A quantitative method for the detection of Soya Protein in cooked & uncooked foods
Intended use:
Vegetable proteins are often added to meat products to improve texture, act as binders, aid in the retention of water and fat, or as a substitute for meat proteins. Soya protein is one of the most important and frequently used vegetable protein additives. The BIOKITS Soya Protein Assay is intended to be used for the quantitation of soya protein in raw or processed mixed meat products.
Suitable to test for the presence of meat, meat products, processed foods, milk etc.

Principle of the Assay:
The kit utilises denatured, renatured soya protein, coated onto microwells in an indirect, competitive immunoassay (ELISA) procedure. In the initial competition reaction, a diluted sample extract is added along with a specific rabbit anti-soya antibody. Soya in the sample competes with immobilised antigen for the antibody binding. The amount of rabbit anti-soya antibody binding to the soya on the well will decrease with increasing concentrations of soya in the extract. The amount of rabbit anti-soya bound to the soya coated well is determined by reaction with peroxidase conjugated anti-rabbit immunoglobulins and detection with TMB substrate (max450nm), after addition of acid stop solution.
