  Allan Swift appointed as Chairman of Regulatory Affairs Working Group

Tepnel Life Sciences PLC (AIM: TED), the international Molecular Diagnostics and Research Products & Services group announces that Dr Allan Swift has been appointed by the British In Vitro Diagnostic Regulatory Association (BIVDA) as Chairman of its Regulatory Affairs Working Group.

BIVDA represents both manufacturers and distributors who are active in the UK, irrespective of their origin. BIVDA represents some of the largest and well known diagnostic companies in the World.

The appointment began in March 2007. Allan Swift is Tepnel Life Sciences’ Group Regulatory Affairs Manager and ensures regulatory compliance of Tepnel’s products and services with all quality and regulatory agencies worldwide. Allan, a Ph.D scientist with over 80 publications, has been involved within quality and regulatory issues within the in vitro diagnostic industry for 22 years, prior to that being the scheme administrator for the UK National External Quality Assessment Schemes for Thyroid related hormones for the UK National Health Service. He is also a member of the UK National External Quality Assurance Scheme for Molecular Genetics Steering committee and a registered Laboratory Director with the New York State Department of Health.

Allan will chair the quarterly meetings of the Regulatory Affairs Working Group which consists of Regulatory Affairs professionals of all of the major UK and International in vitro diagnostic manufacturers. Currently this is the largest working group within BIVDA, with a regular attendance of 30 delegates and a membership of 50 plus.
