Robust Single-plex Chemistry

In-house chemistry
Tepnel’s allele specific amplification chemistry provides a cost effective approach to SNP genotyping which also benefits from automation and miniaturisation to support competetive pricing. This service is complemented by an automated sample and assay submission service allowing the customer the ease and freedom to provide all the necessary assay and sample information with minimal complication.

Taqman chemistry
In a Taqman genotyping assay (Applied Biosystems), two probes (each labelled with different fluorophore and quenching groups) are designed such that each is a perfect match to the base variants present at a SNP site. The 5' nuclease activity of a DNA polymerase degrades perfectly matched probes during PCR, liberating the fluorophore from the quencher to give an increase in fluorescence thus revealing the genotype of the sample.
